1. which year RGV was launched?
2. what kind of repair cost would i face if i buy that bike?
3. any comments from you guy if i buy this bike?

i wanna buy this bike for short commuting purpose in town only. go to town buy something. go to work. go buy toto/magnum
previously i owned a RG Sports which i am not regret having it during Uni time at west malaysia.
my RG sports didn't have any repair on engine at all even though i WOT most of the time.. (max speed on meter is around 140km/h)

hi there, interesting topic.. this one. coz i used to own both RG & RGV back in the 90s.

some answers for you.

RG110 auto was launched in 1993. RG110 full clutch launched in 94.'

RGV120 launched in 1997. end 1998 got some revisions adding rpm meter (tachometer).

2002/3 RGV was replaced by RGX120.

basically, buying an old bike means we need to change all fluids including 4T oil, fork oil and monoshock unit. and also brake fluid.

highly recommended to replace new battery (25-35), throttle cable (12-20) and clutch cable (12-20)

if you still have some spares in cash, then change all tyres and brake pads/shoes. chain and sprockets sets.
new brake pump is only between RM30-35.

the last thing is change the cover set and seat cover, but only if u think necessary.

this bike is highly reliable while parts readily accesible with choices of either genuine, OEM or imitation.

if you plan to keep the bike for some time with little trouble, i strongly suggest change the piston and ring. at the same time, inspect the block if requiring polish or re-bore to a different size. you can also opt to change to a completely new block.

NAM plate is somewhere in 1994-5.

kasik bersihh.. yehaaa...
